API tokens

Use a personal access token for scripts and workers that need access to your BrainMaps account.

  1. Sign in and open Account.
  2. Find the token manager, create a named token and copy its value immediately.
  3. Set BRAINMAPS_API_KEY in the process that will run the CLI, or use brainmaps token register to validate and save it locally.
  4. Revoke the token when it is no longer needed.

Tokens inherit your account’s permissions. They do not bypass contribution approval or atlas governance.
